The Reverend Kevin Henderson
I came to Sunrise Beach Federated Church in 2014 as a student minister from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. What began as a season of learning quickly became a calling rooted in community, faith, and shared ministry. In 2018, I was ordained by Sunrise Beach Federated Church to serve in a part-time pastoral role.
In February 2020, I moved to Sunrise Beach to become the church’s first full-time pastor. Having been part of the life of this congregation for more than twelve years, I can honestly say that the words on our sign out front—“Everyone is Welcome”—are not just aspirational. They are genuinely lived out by this congregation through openness, compassion, and care for one another and the wider community.
It is a privilege to serve a church that seeks to love boldly, welcome generously, and walk faithfully together.
